TBM Project confronts the fragile power of “Humans”

TBM Project is evolving slowly and organically away from a studio-based instrumental concept to something far more personal and emotionally charged,” with “Humans.” The project was founded by drummer Thorsten Behrs and focused on rock-based instrumentals, primarily on mood, texture, and atmosphere. That gear shifter changed when Behrs felt the music required not just a voice, meaning, of course, literal vocals as opposed to an agent charged with bearing depths, but a vessel that could handle significance and weight.

TBM Projects rock roots tread the fine line between power and restraint, giving way as it organizes itself around a more song-oriented structure. There’s urgency boiling under the surface, not in a chaotic, but purposeful way, almost as if the music itself is asking what it means to remain human in an ever-more mechanical world. The instrumental backbone is muscular and tight, yet it allows the vocal performance to guide the emotional narrative.

“Humans” comes on the heels of previous singles “The Fallen Angel” and “I’ll Don’t Take You Home Tonight,” solidifying this project’s sound as having clear classic heavy rock roots, manifesting into a contemporary ethos. Instead of chasing nostalgia, TBM Project leans on experience as an asset, making songs that feel not new but lived-in, and yet not nostalgic either.
