Summer School unleashes raw reflection in new single “CYCLONE”

 

Summer School, Melbourne’s steps in with “CYCLONE,” a new track that channels the weirdness, dread, and self-assessment of being stuck in life’s patterns. Written from a place of searching and questioning, the song captures that versatile experience of being stuck in a track, as well as the quiet, persistent desire to figure out what it all means. It is at once personal and familiar yet surprising, just like the emotional dizzy dervish for which it’s named.

“CYCLONE” is the image of a journey through meditation. With its signature emotional melodies and several layers of instrumentation, the song grabs the whirling thoughts and restless energy of anyone attempting to decide the next step through the confusion that accompanies modern life. The band started small, rehearsing in tight garages and strange locations around the city, but are now recording and providing a nice dose of realism that hits home with fans yearning  for sincerity in their songs.
