RIVER faces dangerous desire in latest release “City of thirst”

RIVER’s new single “City of thirst” explores the darker side of desire, looking at the seductive pull of decisions we know will hurt us. The song is about self-sabotage. It’s about defending what keeps us away from our intuition and then wanting the very person or situation we instinctively distrust. RIVER makes that contradiction live in emotional terms, painting temptation as a fire that consumes, that burns out boredom and the troubles that no longer feel alive. That tension is intimate, as if surrender is both flight and danger. “City of thirst” is honest in that it does not try to make destructive desire look simple.
