Nevik Wright delivers more than a release on "7 Gods"

From Kingston, Jamaica, comes Nevik Wright's creation of a universe, not just another album. Rather than being a typical album, the music of '7 Gods' is a collection of personal myths generated through years of genre blending and quiet personal growth (2010).

With "Call Me (When You're Lonely)" as the anchor for the project, Nevik Wright explores ambient-leaning rap, Afrobeat, and dancehall, creating a world where each genre exists side by side without competing. This project creates an ambiance reminiscent of late-night conversations, capturing emotion through vulnerable lyrics and delivery rather than bravado. The softness permits the user to sit with the emotion instead of rushing through it.

The addition of LVMBEATS as a collaborator on this project during the winter of December 2020 enriches the sonic landscape. The instrumental production on this project does not overpower Nevik; it instead allows him to express himself honestly and therefore has an emotional connection. This restraint serves the project well because it gives the impression of a lived experience rather than a theatrical performance. Nevik Wright is documenting a chapter of his life. The title of '7 Gods' reflects Nevik Wright's layered identity, tenacity, and artistic expression, localized to Kingston but reaching out into many other parts of the world.
