SIBBY LIV set boundary to bass with “CHAT BACC”

Sibby Liv, Philadelphia-based international music artist takes full control on her new single “CHAT BACC,” a boisterous, female-driven dancehall anthem designed for the dancefloor, not discussion. The track wants you to understand that right from the jump, this is about taking up space, confidence, being there and knowing when silence says more than explanation.

“CHAT BACC" does as much with restraint as with rhythm. Sibby Liv does not play for approval or stretch the message thin. Instead, the power of the record is clarity, a clear, assertive line in the sand with total ease and authority. The end product is a song that seems to find its own destination effortlessly, but can’t be moved once it gets there, ideal for the crammed dance floors where all that energy does the talking.

The DJ, producer and curator behind World Fusion, Sibby Liv’s sound sits at the crossroads of dancehall, amapiano and global club rhythms. That sound identity is very much present here. “CHAT BACC” throbs with international intention, fusing rhythm of Caribbean provenance to a sense of club urgency native to today’s world, the result is a song that crosses this summer whole by water, but still never loses touch with home.

“CHAT BACC” is a matter of self-definition. It's a reminder that borders can simply be declared, and power exercised without noise. Sibby Liv offers a song that is brash without being noisy, international without being watered down, and assured without selling out, a dancehall anthem that gets the body moving even as it makes the mind pay attention.
