The Sundials ride raw and reckless on “Bareback Riding”

The Sundials's "Bareback Riding" starts with the kind of loose, sweaty energy that only comes from a band that is completely in sync with the moment. The song was made from a live jam, but it still sounds like it's happening on stage. The saxophone cuts through, and the bass makes things a little more interesting. Each person takes up space without making the melody too busy. It's fun, dirty, and full of classic blues trouble making. What makes it interesting is the balance between tribute and instinct. The band keeps things going with the metaphors and the rhythm.
