Luke Armstrong channels grief and survival on “Heavenbound”

Luke Armstrong's “Heavenbound” is a deeply personal reflection on leaving home in search of a better future, and the emotional devastation that follows. He writes on guilt, loneliness, and emotional exhaustion, especially his struggle with feeling powerless as the world around him burns. The song is built on '80s-inspired guitars and sore lyricism, mourning both lost love and his fractured relationship with Beirut itself. Every line has its weakness, but the track never bends with its sorrow.
