Matt Geiser’s “The Traveler” is about a man who keeps running into the same mysterious being, but doesn't ever really get the meaning of it each time. The artist looks at distraction, impatience, and the opportunities we blow by rushing through life. The emotional strain of the inner noise of the narrator and the insistent female voice is engaging. Rather than providing us with simple solutions, the song offers us a question that we can’t get rid of, leading us to question what we might be missing ourselves.
