Barzo transforms a Brazilian rock classic into hypnotic Latin motion on “Mosca”

On “Mosca,” Barzo breathes new life into Raul Seixas’ “Mosca na Sopa.” The production is deliberately immersive, with a hypnotic bassline and layered synths that create a darkly playful pulse made for movement. Intricate vocal treatment adds another dimension, drawing on Monterrey’s slowed-down cumbia tradition and the iconic ’90s version associated with El Baile de La Mosca. The result is an homage to the original’s rebellious spirit. Barzo makes the source material contemporary, rhythmic, psychedelic, and unmistakably dancefloor-ready.
