Gernz turn everyday pain into alternative-rock impact with “OW!”

South Australian alternative rock band Gernz have taken one of life’s smaller but more universally understood disasters, the pain of stubbing your toe, and made it the emotional premise of “OW!”. That sharp, jarring pain is a metaphor for those moments that hit you hard and fast, making everything seem too much for a little while, and then they pass. “OW!” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Thomas Wilson in Mount Gambier, South Australia, and draws inspiration from stripped-back, atmospheric alternative rock, letting Gernz turn an ordinary experience into something sharp, human, and memorable.
