Solid Copy questions solitude and desire on latest release “Low Tide”

“Low Tide” by Solid Copy is an emotional hesitation that makes for a compelling portrait of two people pulled toward closeness but afraid to admit it. The song’s question, What if you’re supposed to be alone? is circled with ambiguity, which makes it painful but strangely comforting. That tension is what makes “Low Tide” striking, solitude is less a destination than a defense against openness. Solid Copy gets intimacy when fear is louder than desire. The result is a song about distance, longing, and the possibility that being alone is not enough to feel safe.
