Cindy Zhang rewrites an old love story with latest release “Stories”

On “Stories,” Cindy Zhang goes introspective over a dreamy jazz pop ballad underscored by brushed drums, romantic strings, warm jazz piano, and an intimate vocal performance. The song is a letter to her younger self, the lonely girl who used to fill notebooks with sad love songs, told that one day she’d marry someone who made those stories true. That premise lends the track its gentle emotional glow, it’s about getting past old loneliness and discovering that imagined love can translate into lived experience.
