Aljadaqui transform a viral moment into a musical statement with "Playita Prohibida"

A real-life controversy in the musical limelight was the song “Playita Prohibida,” with which Aljadaqui, one of the emblematic groups of Dominican pop-rock, made its appearance. The single was inspired by an incident frontman Mariano Lantigua experienced while visiting family at a beach in Juan Dolio, and it connects the music to a story that grew beyond its original setting. “Playita Prohibida” reminds us how everyday events can spark larger conversations and seep into the creative expression of Dominican music.
