Winnipeg band Bearcat brings a deeply personal story to the forefront with “Kisseynew,” a song inspired by a northern Manitoba commercial fish camp that operated for 53 years before reaching its emotional end. Rooted in real-life storytelling and played with live instruments, the track explores the beauty, mystery, and eventual heartbreak surrounding a place rich with history. Its narrative invites listeners to reflect on the memories and connections that make certain places unforgettable. Rather than simply documenting a closure, Bearcat turns a chapter of local history into a poignant musical tribute.
