Jack Grisham and the Life Undone face love and loss on latest release “Angel Funeral”

Jack Grisham and the Life Undone
released “Angel Funeral,” a personal song about grief that doesn’t sugarcoat its harshest parts. The song lingers in the horrible space between devotion and loss, written by Grisham as he stood by the casket of his first wife, knowing where she was going, but knowing his love would not let him go with her. That impossible contradiction gives it its emotional power. The performance is intimate, stark, painfully human rather than a spectacle of sorrow. “Angel Funeral” sticks in your mind because it’s not about love as an escape from death, but as something so strong it can survive after goodbye.
