Mark Monaco and the Strayhearts Reignite a Rock ’n’ Roll Classic With “Gimme Some Lovin’”

Mark Monaco and the Strayhearts bring fresh energy to the Spencer Davis Group classic “Gimme Some Lovin’,” placing the familiar rock ’n’ roll favorite within their Texas-meets-Memphis musical identity. Interestingly, the recording began almost by accident, when Monaco used the song as background music for behind-the-scenes studio footage. That unexpected moment eventually sparked a full rendition, giving the release an organic story of its own. Drawing on the band's blend of country, rock, and soul, the track celebrates timeless songwriting while reflecting their appreciation for authentic American music. It is a spirited reminder that great songs can find new life in unexpected ways.
