Max Rauch's "Willowbrook Mall" is a song about choosing to connect in real life over endless online distraction, and asking why we spend our lives scrolling when we could spend it all together. T. Rex strut, Weezer-sized hooks, ripping guitars, and details like Auntie Anne's, fountain pennies, and Route 23 provide the memories with plenty of personality. Max Rauch's love is playful, not sentimental, and "Willowbrook Mall" feels like a postcard from a social world we may be losing but want to reclaim together.
