Sleeper Sofa questions the balance between freedom and belonging in recent release "Human People (Under the Sun)"

Sleeper Sofa's "Human People (Under the Sun)" is a contemplative release that explores an essential human contradiction, the balance between the desire for personal freedom and the need for meaningful connection. The song explores how people can be independent yet still want the security, understanding, and support that come from family and community. The tension gives the track a very relatable emotional grounding, touching on something many feel but rarely put into words. It asks the listener to think about where individuality intersects with belonging, but it doesn't say one has to be sacrificed for the other.
