Drake’s “Anita Max Win Tour” hits Australia and New Zealand in 2025 after 8-year Hiatus

Drake is making a triumphant return to Australia and New Zealand in early 2025, thrilling fans with his first tour in the region since 2017.

The Canadian superstar unveiled dates for his highly anticipated Anita Max Win Tour on Thursday (Nov. 28). The tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off with two electrifying nights at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Feb. 9-10 and concludes with back-to-back shows at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Feb. 28 and March 1. The seven-date trek will also include stops in Sydney and Brisbane.

Presale tickets will be available starting Tuesday, Dec. 3, with the general onsale beginning Dec. 6 at 12 p.m. local time.

The tour’s quirky name, Anita Max Win, originates from a viral moment during Drake’s December 2023 livestream on Kick, where he debuted a new alter ego. The name is a clever nod to the gambling phrase “I need a max win,” alluding to hitting the jackpot on a slot machine.

Drake hinted at his tour on Nov. 24 during a livestream with gaming streamer xQc, sharing his excitement:

“February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia, I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast… February 9 ’til like… March something.”

A Long-Awaited Return

The Anita Max Win Tour marks Drake’s first Australian and New Zealand performances since his Boy Meets World Tour in 2017. Fans can expect high-energy shows filled with hits and surprises.

Adding to the buzz, Drake recently announced a collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, who teased its imminent completion during a recent Instagram Live session.

The Rivalry Heats Up

Drake’s tour launch coincides with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 9, fueling their well-documented rivalry. Both artists have exchanged lyrical shots throughout 2024, with Lamar dropping his diss track “Not Like Us” and surprise album GNX, and Drake clapping back with “Push Ups.”
