JRNXLST head-on in bold new single “HALO”

JRNXLST, Ecuadorian-born, Brooklyn-raised artist, delivers a bold, hook-forward solo single, “HALO,” that does not slip in the back door, it kicks down that front door, dances in the ruins, and invites you to sit with discomfort.

“HALO” arrives as a tightly coiled indie rock and indie pop rush, melodic, infectious, and humming with tension. It seems designed for movement, and an edge lurks behind the polish, a feeling that something darker is hovering not far below the surface.

“HALO” is a study in contrast, indie-rock swagger butts up against guitar lines, electronic textures, and vocals so momentous they feel spontaneous rather than programmed. It’s emotional without becoming indulgent, confrontational without sacrificing its melodic hold.

JRNXLST, Guerrero’s vehicle, has one directive, create music that is honest, raw and uncomfortably human. “HALO” encompasses that ethos, challenging its listeners to examine their self-righteousness while also reminding them of the power of connection.
