Born Runner opens with “Live It Up,” a burst of indie rock vitality. Immediate urgency, courtesy of driving guitars and punchy rhythms propelling forth from the first note. The handclaps and peppy arrangement lend a communal air that is hard not to move along to. There’s a sort of freedom baked into the track, it feels spontaneous and breathing. Born Runner preserves that fleeting moment of joy and makes it something lasting. “Live It Up” is the sort of song that exists on the move.
