Mike Gilbar lets an old dream take flight on "Fly"

Mike Gilbar’s “Fly” has that murky magic of a song born from a late night at the club. Written in the early 1980s, it draws on a recurring dream of being able to fly, giving the track a natural, mystical, floating quality. Later-added choral 'aahs' stretch the atmosphere, and the three-chord verse foundation lays a steady path to each closing section of the verse. It’s a musical snapshot of those rare times when reality seems lighter than usual.
