Sweetbreads embraces radical self-belief on "The Anvil"

Sweetbreads’ “The Anvil” is an odd sort of upbeat song, but it earns its optimism through honesty. Written during a time of transition and difficulty, the song becomes a heartfelt reflection on growth, resilience, and self-worth. The song confronts self-criticism directly, providing compassion where doubt once resided. This emotional openness gives every lyric weight. “The Anvil” is a protest against the never-ending pressure and unrealistic expectations.
