Thief Motif tackles the insidious nature of addiction with "Get Better," a single built around an unsettling metaphor, a vine that slowly takes root while appearing useful at first. It sharply describes how destructive habits can creep into a person's life without their effects immediately revealing themselves. The song captures that slow transformation, something that seems good becomes harder and harder to control. Thief Motif presents addiction not as a sudden fall but as a slow wearing away of ground, which makes the experience particularly disturbing. "Get Better" is a sobering meditation on dependence and how easily temporary comfort can become something that threatens to engulf the person seeking relief.
