Low Range drops a fuzzy anthem for every vibe killer on "Buzzkill"

Low Range embraces that all-too-relatable archetype and turns the volume full tilt with the new single "Buzzkill." There’s always one friend who turns off the lights when the party has barely begun. The voice that pierces a chuckle with an icy splash of common sense. Steeped in stoner rock spunk and straight-ahead rock punch, “Buzzkill” is a smoky, riff-powered ride that reflects the vibe of a moment gone sideways. It’s the theme music to that record-scratch-body-jerk feeling, when good energy runs afoul of bad timing. But instead of wallowing in the corner, Low Range turns the tables and channels annoyance into a head-bobbing, amp-blasting cleansing.

There’s an undeniable swagger to “Buzzkill” itself. The track leans into thick vibes and unvarnished attitude, tapping into the hazy heft of stoner rock while maintaining hooks that will linger. It has a lived-in honesty, less a matter of placing blame and more a matter of diagnosing a universal dynamic to which we’ve all been witnesses.

“Buzzkill” hurts more for how familiar it is. We’ve all experienced it, the night that nearly peaked, the moment that almost sparked, the vibe that came so close to soaring. Low Range embraces that tension and lets it simmer before exploding into true rock form. It’s cleansing without being self-righteous, heavy while keeping its pulse.

With “Buzzkill,” Low Range halts a song about someone killing the vibe, turning that energy into fuel. It is loud, outrageous, and designed to run at maximum volume. The remains of shattered ennui, however, remind us that sometimes the best way to deal with a buzzkill is to out-rock them.
